From a Hungry Child to a Life of Purpose

Last month, I had the privilege of visiting the Philippines, and it stirred something deep within me. As I watched the children eagerly line up for a warm meal, it was as though I was looking into a mirror of my past—a reflection of a time when I, too, faced hunger and uncertainty.

When I was just 8 years old, my mother passed away. My father was not around, and I found myself navigating life alone, working in exchange for food or simply a place to sleep. At such a young age, I was carrying the weight of survival. I could have easily been lost in the cycle of poverty that ensnares so many.

But my story took a different turn. My life was transformed because of people who invested in me. Their kindness, generosity, and belief in my potential made a profound impact. They didn’t just give me food or shelter—they gave me hope, opportunities, and a vision for what my life could become.

Now, I am blessed to stand on the other side of that journey, and I consider it a privilege to pay it forward. During my visit, I witnessed the incredible work being done through Kingdom Legacy Ministries. The video below, taken in the first week of November 2024, captures a glimpse of the mission we are carrying out: to break the cycle of poverty and offer hope to children who are living in the harshest conditions.

Through our feeding program, we are serving over 2,500 meals each month to children who would otherwise go hungry. For just 50 cents, we can provide a warm, nutritious meal that nourishes not only their bodies but also their spirits. But it doesn’t stop there. Every meal is a doorway to deeper connections—opportunities to share the love of Jesus, sponsor their education, provide discipleship, and even teach vocational skills like digital marketing.

Seeing these children reminded me of how important it is to reach out and help. Their smiles, their laughter, and their eagerness to learn are all reminders that they are full of potential and deserving of opportunities to thrive. These kids are not defined by their circumstances—they are filled with God-given purpose, waiting to be unlocked.

Why It Matters

Feeding a child is not just an act of charity—it is an investment in their future. Each meal we provide is a seed of hope, a message that says, “You are valued. You are loved. You matter.”

Just as someone believed in me when I was young, I believe in these children. With the right support, they can overcome their hardships and rise to become leaders, innovators, and change-makers.

A Call to Business Owners

As I reflect on my journey, I can’t help but recognize the role that others played in my life. They didn’t just give—they partnered with me in creating a future filled with possibilities.

Today, I want to challenge you to be part of that same story. If you’re a business owner, you have the opportunity to not only grow your business but also create a legacy that goes beyond profits. By partnering with Kingdom Legacy Ministries, you can help break the cycle of poverty for children in the Philippines.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Sponsor meals: Just 50 cents can provide a warm, nourishing meal for a child. Imagine the difference you can make by sponsoring hundreds of meals each month.
  • Support education: Help us provide scholarships and learning opportunities for children to break free from the limitations of poverty.
  • Empower skills training: Your contribution can help equip teenagers with practical, employable skills like digital marketing, giving them a pathway to sustainable success.

Together, we can make a difference. We can give these children the same chance that was given to me—a chance to dream, to grow, and to thrive.

Will you join us? Let’s transform lives, one meal, one child, one story at a time.
