Spring Cleaning with My Little Helper

Spring Cleaning with My Little Helper

Spring is here, and that means it’s time to clean up the yard and get ready for warmer days. This year, I had a very enthusiastic little helper—my one-and-a-half-year-old son, Benjamin.

As I started raking the leaves, Benjamin was right beside me, determined to “help.” Of course, his version of raking involved more playing than cleaning—grabbing handfuls of leaves, tossing them in the air, and stomping through the piles I had just made. But watching his excitement and curiosity made every extra minute of work completely worth it.

While we worked (or at least I did), we also started another fun project—building his little house! He eagerly explored the pieces, picked up tools, and even tried to hand me things, though not always the right ones. Seeing his little hands at work and his eyes light up with excitement reminded me how special these simple moments really are.

Sure, it took a little longer to get things done, and yes, there were more leaves scattered than raked, but in the end, the best part of the day wasn’t the clean yard—it was the joy of doing it together.

Here’s to welcoming spring, making memories, and enjoying every moment—even the messy ones!
